Tailored Courses


Cookery courses can be designed specifically for your group (min 6);


A lot of the companies who use Ghan House for their team meetings – we are just 1 hour from Dublin & Belfast airports - use the Cookery School at as an alternative to other tired & tested teambuilding exercises.

A surprising amount can be learnt in a 2 to 3 hr ‘hands-on’ session. It can be aimed at having fun or converted into useful analogies such as waste from various foods in cooking and how it can be used and hence translated into similar practices in the workplace.

Private groups and hen parties - Cookery and/or winetasting

For an activity that everyone can do, that is inside away from the vagarities of the weather, learning to cook a three course lunch or dinner is a great ice-breaker.

Our cookery programme

We started in 1993 ~ 26 years ago! The 3rd such Cookery School in Ireland started by proprietor Joyce Carroll.

Rather than Cookery Courses that anyone can book to attend, we now specialise in 1/2 day or full day hands-on courses for groups (min 6) or demonstrations for 1 or 2 hours followed by buffet lunch (min 15).

 The Chefs

Niamh Connolly

Niamh comes to us with a wealth of experience having worked in the Michelin star L’Ecrivain kitchen as well as the Nuremore Hotel and the 5 star K Club in Kildare.  Niamh has also spent the last 5 years teaching cookery at VEC’s; however her ambition is to some day open her own tea rooms serving homemade cakes and pastries!


Stephane Le Sourne

Stephane is our multi award-winning Head Chef here at Ghan House.  He has gained his expertise working his way around the world and will share some of his great wisdom with you!
