"If you're looking for a wedding venue that is relaxed, intimate, welcoming, civilised and gives your guests a sense of a private house party with very good food - then I think Ghan House is one of the best options on the island (of Ireland). In terms of giving overall value for money, an atmospheric location (including the wider village setting), and quality of service - you'll be hard pressed to do better than Ghan House." The unique aspect of Ghan House is that you can have exclusive use of the whole house & gardens ~ which means, no other guests apart from your own!

Or your Civil Ceremony & very own private dining room for smaller weddings.

Most of the weddings we have are between 50 to110 with extra evening guests. However the most our drawing room will hold is 55 guests. If more than this, then we use the ballroom and/or the ground floor dining room.

The easy layout of the house and the fact that you have taken us over for the day actually makes for a more sociable environment rather than just one big function room - I like to think of it more free range than all couped up in 1 big function room - you can escape the band/DJ and join your own guests in your own bar or relax in front of a log fire in the lounge or chill out in the gardens - knowing you'll only bump into your own guests!

We have many varied menus or you can have exactly what you want, your favourite dish/es for your wedding day - sit down & talk to our Head Chef Robert

Exclusive use means we do not take any lunch on the day of your wedding - you can arrive when you want & eat when you want. It includes the bridal suite. Guests from the night before are encouraged to leave that little bit earlier after their breakfast in order for us get the house ready for when you arrive in the afternoon. Exclusive use also allows you to bring your own wine - our corkage is €12.50 for a 70cl bottle of sparkling and €10 for wine. Bringing your own wine will save you €500 to €1,500 rather than choosing from our wine list.

For a Friday, exclusive use is €2,500 and Sunday to Thursday is €2,000

Exclusive use of the house for a Saturday is €3,500.

This means you have the whole house and gardens just to you & your guests.
We have 12 bedrooms, 11 with bath & shower en-suite & a single room with shower room en-suite.

Costs re Exclusive use v Private dining for a wedding of 60

Friday exclusive use at €2,500, 40 + 40 x bottles Prosecco & wine that you supply - corkage at €12.50 & €10, bridal suite, no charge = €3,400 (plus food etc)

Private dining at €500, bridal suite at €250, 40 +40 bottles Prosecco & house wine from our wine list at €35 & €20 = €2,950

‘Just wanted to write and thank you and your staff for the excellent service provided on our wedding day, celebrated at Ghan House on the 11th March. The professional attitude of the staff and attention to detail made our wedding reception a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable experience for all of our guests. The food was excellent and your establishment is much deserving of the excellent reviews attributed to it.
Thank you once again.
